Population decline. Vacant homes. A shrinking downtown.
A struggling school system. Does that sound like a place you want to live? Well, we do live there. That place is Mount Clemens—the city we call home.
When you look at the recent past, our future doesn’t seem so bright. But giving up isn’t an option. At least, it’s not for me.
I don’t think it’s an option for you either.
I’m not talking about change for the sake of change. I’m talking about real change. The kind that takes planning and collaboration, transparency and accountability. The kind that requires new approaches to tough economic challenges. The kind of change that brings revitalization to every corner of the city.
We didn’t get here overnight. But we can’t expect a turnaround without changing course. A better Mount Clemens will take all of us. It's time for a fresh perspective. It's time for a better Mount Clemens.
